PlasACRYL Formulated to solve many of the complex issues associated with enteric coatings, Plasacryl is an aqueous emulsion of glyceryl monostearate and triethyl citrate. Effective levels of use for Plasacryl are typically 6% - 10% of the polymer solids by weight. Because of its low usage level and unique physical properties, Plasacryl provides very little interruption of the enteric polymer film. An emulsion like the aqueous methacrylic acid copolymer systems, Plasacryl is very miscible with these systems preventing settling and coating system clogging. Use of Plasacryl has been shown to improve drug product stability and reduce overall coating required resulting in significant cost savings.
